Benefits of Parsley According to Ayurveda

Parsley according to Ayurveda

Parsley, packed with minerals, vitamins and iron, is good for the urinary tract, female reproductive system, and digestion.

Parsley was known for its medicinal potency long before it was eaten as a food. It is also a diuretic. Unlike other diuretics parsley allows for water excretion without the loss of electrolytes, a process known as aquaresis. Its hot and dry qualities are helpful for draining excess Kapha in the spring when your body is naturally letting go of winter weight.  It might be a bit too warm for pitta, but is great for vata and kapha.

The Benefits of Parsley

Parsley can help to tone the uterus. In addition, parsley increases the body's ability to absorb manganese, a key ingredient to help build bone. From an Ayurvedic perspective parsley, like all digestives, helps freshen breath.
It also has antiseptic, antiarthritic, anti-rheumatic, astringent, digestive, stomachic, tonic, detoxifying, and antimicrobial properties.
